Queeria - Center for promotion of culture of nonviolence and equality established in 2006 with a vision of society in which LGBT people are equal in respect of their human rights, free to express their identities through what they are doing and a society where LGBT people recognized in the legal / legislative framework.

Respect for human rights is a key aspect of human security. In the context of LGBT Community safety is most telling in the domains of violence and explicit discrimination, while other aspects remain neglected.

The idea is Queeria research center conducted in 2012/13. year to encourage to reflect and to take affirmative actions by different social actors who can contribute to improving the quality of life of members / LGBT community in Serbia. The results of the survey "Human security and the LGBT community" should be the basis for making recommendations, planning and creating programs that would contribute to improving the situation LGBT people in Serbia.

The survey was conducted by the project team, which consisted of Gordana Subotic, Marijan Stojčić. This research is important as laying the groundwork for further research to continue

it is deeper with this topic. However, it is not only important for academic community and professional community, but also can help in the formulation of clear public policy in a number of areas such as social policy, education, as well as suggestions to policies of donors who often do not recognize this phenomenon.
