About Online Resource Center

This online resource centre has been developed in order to make sure that all international and regional LGBTI human rights instruments, standards, principles, policy recommendations, manuals, toolkits, brochures etc. become widely available to civil society organisations, government officials, media, researchers and all other interested individuals and institutions in the Western Balkan and Turkey regions and beyond.

One of the main reasons for the creation of this repository is to provide the possibility for main documents such as official policies, positions and government correspondence to be translated into local languages and thus make them available to state institutions and relevant stakeholders. The resource centre provides several of these important documents with translation into local languages.

ERA, in partnership with UNDP, worked to develop the web-based platform which is now available with data, evidence and information on the rights situation of LGBTI people in Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo*, FYR of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey.

This resource centre has multi-lingual component and allows for submission of information through applications on tablets, smart-phones and other portable devices. Users can upload documents through the resource centre and upon review from moderator they will be available on the repository.

The repository offers resources and information for a very long list of topics including legal, policy, education etc. It is designed in a way to make the search as easy and comprehensive as possible including direct possibility for download. The online resource centre was financially supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The online resource centre was developed in the framework of the United Nations Development Program sub-regional project ‘Being LGBTI in Eastern Europe: Reducing Inequalities and Exclusion and Combating Homophobia and Transphobia Experienced by LGBTI People” in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Serbia. Kosovo, Montenegro and Turkey are also benefiting from the sub-regional activities and resources, including this online repository.
