LGBTI Equal Rights Association for Western Balkans and Turkey
Vuk Raičević was involved in human rights issues since his student days at the Antidiscrimination Legal Clinic at his faculty. He volunteered for several national CSOs in Serbia, such as Lawyers' Committee for Human Rights - YUCOM, and for UN OHCHR office in Belgrade. Since 2014, he worked for CSO Praxis in Belgrade on several positions, including as Antidiscrimination and Gender Equality Programme Coordinator. Throughout his proffessional engagement, Vuk has gained extensive experience in advocacy on domestic and international level, legal assistance, research and analysis in various human rights topics, such as statelessness, segregation, hate crime, discrimination and gender equality, as well as in project management. He was involved as a lecturer within non-formal education in several human rights schools.
Vuk holds a Bachelor degree in Law and a Master degree in International Law (LL.M.), both from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law. His master thesis is titled „Rights of members of LGBTI population in the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights“. He gained additonal human rights knowledge through informal education, including being alumni of Human Rights School „Vojin Dimitrijević“ of Belgrade Center for Human Rights.
In May 2018, he joined ERA in a newly established position of Advocacy Manager, where he will be engaging in advocacy activities with EU institutions, United Nations, OSCE and Council of Europe human rights mechanisms, intensive and continuous monitoring of national, regional and international developments and opportunities, as well as consulting, assisting and mentoring ERA member organizations in their advocacy activities.
